Supporting Local: Why Choosing Emerald City Fresh Matters for the Seattle Community

Seattle has an incredible small business community — one that was tested hard by the pandemic, by rising costs, and by competition from national chains with deep pockets. Choosing local isn’t just a feel-good decision. It has real, measurable ripple effects throughout our community.

Where Your Dollar Goes

When you order from a national meal kit company or a big delivery app, the majority of that money leaves Seattle. It goes to headquarters in another city, to shareholders, to corporate marketing budgets.

When you order from Emerald City Fresh, your money stays in the community. It supports local suppliers when we can source locally, pays wages to Seattle neighbors, and funds a small business that is deeply invested in this city’s wellbeing.

A Business Built on Community Values

I started Emerald City Fresh because I believe everyone in this city deserves access to fresh, nourishing food — regardless of how busy their life is or what physical challenges they face. That’s not a marketing slogan. It’s the reason I get up in the morning (or hobble up, as the case may be during my current recovery).

We serve Capitol Hill, Ballard, Queen Anne, Fremont, Beacon Hill, South Lake Union, West Seattle, and surrounding neighborhoods. We’re temporarily closed, but we’ll be back — and your support means the world.
